"Three Modalities of Yerevan Modern Architecture"
The history of the formation of the 20th century architectural image of Yerevan presents contradictory aesthetics: from a wider perspective, it is a battleground for broader ideological visions. These architectural visions were derivatives of various social, political, economic and cultural contexts; at the same time were the main factors that generated these contexts. The lecture will try to analyze the contradictions between these visions and their ongoing influence on current architectural developments.

"The Vanishing Modern Architectural Layer of Yerevan"
In the beginning of the 20th century, Yerevan, breaking up its ties with the existing historical urban environment, developed into a new modern city. But today we witness the annihilation of the modern architectural layer of the city, and paradoxically, under the pretext for a new "modernization".
