The Story Behind Ornaments
The Story behind Ornaments educational program was based on the exhibition Breath. It was designed for school children in two different age groups: 7-11 and 12 +.
In the first part of the program participants had a tour in the exhibition and got familiarized with the group-project by artist, architect and designer Vasken Brudian and his students from TUMO Center for Creative Technologies. The details about project were presented during the tour with interactive Q&A.
The second part of the program continued at the Creative Hall of CCA. A Power-point presentation on the medieval Armenian ornamental art, its reflection on architecture, arts and crafts and contemporary design was shown in the second part of the program prior to the creative process.
At the end of the program, summing up all the provided materials participants created their own pieces. The youngest group of participants made postcards using Armenian ornaments while the elder ones (aged 12 +) carved relieves with ornaments on clay using special instruments.
