Monika Dars: Piano Recital

Echoes of the Baltics

“I would like to compose a symphony out of the rustling of waves, the mysterious language of the centuries-old forest, the blinking of stars, our little songs, and my boundless longing.”
— M. K. Čiurlionis

Sounds born from silence, wind, and sea. The music of M. K. Čiurlionis, B. Dvarionas, A. Remėsa, P. Vasks, and A. Pärt is not only an echo of Baltic culture but also a living, unfolding narrative that sensitively connects tradition and the present.

On the occasion of M. K. Čiurlionis’ 150th anniversary, the program features not only his exquisite piano miniatures but also his majestic Sonata in F major. The recital “Echoes of the Baltics” invites listeners into a subtle dialogue with the echoes of the Baltic region—from melancholic lyricism and frozen harmonies to impassioned, improvisatory spirit.

Program: B. Dvarionas, M. K. Čiurlionis, A. Pärt, A. Remėsa, P. Vasks
