Gyumri Art Expo 2013

On September 20, 2013 the Cafesjian Center for the Arts participated at the first international CIS Art Expo organized at the second largest city of Armenia, Gyumri. The expo executed with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia was a unique annual report on significant cultural projects and events organized during the year.

 

The purpose of the art expo was a creation of a united platform for cultural dialogues between the 9 participating CIS countries. Among the cultural organizations and museums of Armenia and other CIS countries, the Cafesjian Center for the Arts was also invited to participate and represent its current and future exhibitions and programs. In its separate pavilion CCA located six banners presenting the center, the sculpture garden, educational programs, Museum Store, Membership and was introduced as an international destination for high level guests, tourists and visitors.

 

The Cafesjian Center for the Arts was also presented through its brochures and some of the exhibition catalogs that were spread throughout the whole day of the expo. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan visited the expo and had a walk-through of the pavilions. Among the highlights of the center’s representation was one of its past educational programs Create Your Narrative (launched in parallel to Hagop Hagopian: Iron Narratives exhibition) practiced at the Museum after the great Armenian poet Hovhannes Shiraz. The participating CCA staff did its best to introduce the Cafesjian Center for the Arts to the new audience at its best.
