ENCOUNTERS WITH ART: Paruyr Davtyan: Davtyan Paruyr Catalog presentation

On October 10, the Cafesjian Center for the Arts will present an event from the Encounters with Arts series, dedicated to the presentation of “Paruyr Davtryan: Davtyan Paruyr” exhibition catalog.

First, the audience will see the exhibition in the Center's Eagle Gallery, followed by the presentation of the catalog in the Special Events Auditorium.

Artist Paruyr Davtyan will also be present, and the audience will have a unique opportunity to ask him questions.

The event will start in Eagle Gallery at 18:30 and continue in the Special Events Auditorium at 19:00.
Admission is free.

This will be also one of the last chances to see the exhibition before its closure on October 12.

The exhibition, “Paruyr Davtyan: Davtyan Paruyr” is structured around several key axes, aiming not only to introduce an Armenian artist who has remained unknown within the Armenian art scene, but also to present, through his first solo exhibition in Armenia, the phenomenon of Moscow Conceptualism — itself virtually unknown in the local context — as embodied by one of its prominent and active representatives.

Through deconstructing artworks from the past, Davtyan reassembles their fragments into new compositions. In fact, the layering and rearranging of established codes is one of the artist’s core methods.
