Inspiration

May 06, 2023
The educational program is based on the exhibition, "Embroidered Melodies: A Sonic Journey with Alexis Paul" on display at CCA from April 14 until June 25, which presents the project of French artist, musician, composer Alexis Paul and his connection with the Armenian cultural heritage.

Within the scope of the educational program, participants will become acquainted with details of the exhibition, with the musical instruments in the gallery, and the embroidery and carpet samples that are part of Narek Van Ashughatoyan's collection. In the creative part of the program, after the presentation on the Armenian ornamental art, participants will be asked to create new ornaments and new ways of using these ornaments, inspired by Alexis Paul's project.

The objectives of the educational program are: introducing the concept of using traditional crafts, such as embroidery, in contemporary art; encouraging participants to experiment with different sounds and embroidery patterns, thus exploring the creative possibilities of combining different art forms. It will also inspire participants to continue exploring various art forms and pursue their passions in creative fields.

Children, ages 12+, and families can participate in the program. Participation is free with prior registration.
