The Cafesjian Center for the Arts Celebrates International Museum Day and Museum Night

On May 16, 2015 the Cafesjian Center for the Arts will join the international museum community worldwide to celebrate the Museum Night event, by opening its galleries to the public for free from 10:00 till midnight. 
The major event for Museum Night is the opening of a solo artwork exhibit, Suren Pipoyan: Migration, in Khanjyan Gallery. Visitors will also have an opportunity to attend two recently opened temporary exhibitions; Sarkis Hamalbashian: Armenian District in Sasuntsi David Garden Gallery and Sahak Poghosyan: Silence of My Grandmother's Eyes in Eagle Gallery.

As part of the special programming for Museum Night, two sessions of educational programs based on the current exhibitions will be offered for children and adults. 

•  Armenian Collages (based on the exhibition Sarkis Hamalbashian: Armenian District)
Participants will create their own narratives using the characters from Hamalbashian’s works. 
Time: 12:00-13:30

• Mapping the Memory   (based on the exhibition Silence of My Grandmother’s Eyes)
Time: 14:30-16:00


The Cafesjian Center for the Arts will also offer free admission on Sunday, May 17 (10:00-20:00) and Monday, May 18 – on International Museum Day (10:00-17:00).
